Reflecting on John 9:35-41
“If you were blind, you would not be guilty of sin; but now that you claim you can see, your guilt remains.” (John 9:41)
Who does Jesus think is blind? It is those who claim that they can see. That is, those who are confident they are right. They know the truth, and everyone else is wrong. Such ‘know-it-alls’ are the most deceived of all. There was a time when I was certain I was right. Like Paul, I was convinced my theology was faultless (Philippians 3:4-6). It was encountering Jesus that opened my eyes to my blindness. He gently pointed out my blind spots and spiritual cataracts. The insight (sight) that He gave me was my blindness. I think a lot of things, and have a lot of opinions. But I now recognize these as flawed and limited perspectives. Every day with Jesus He gives me new insight, but never 20/20 vision. Those who claim to know the whole truth reveal their blindness. Those who admit their skewed vision, see most clearly of all.
PRAYER
Lord Jesus, I am blind in so many ways, but in this one way I see clearly... my flawed and limited ability to see and know the truth. My hope is not in my perspectives, but in You, the truest and fullest vision of God. I want to see and know You, Jesus!

I am reminded of the followinh passage:
‘For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.’
I continue to grow in Him and my ways have changed serving Him as I continue to mature and grow in my faith.
