Why am I recording my days?

“Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.” (Psalm 90:12)
The Lord has given me time to rest, to reflect and to be renewed.
Someone asked me why I was posting about each day.
They were concerned that this was not a restful way to spend my time.
For some that may be true, but I don’t experience it this way.
Personally I find journalling to be good for my soul.
It helps me to organize the noise in my head.
Another benefit is it helps me to be aware of and savour each moment.
Every day – including the unexciting ones – are a gift.
A third benefit is that it will help me remember when my sabbatical is done.
“Oh, that my words were recorded, that they were written on a scroll.” (Job 19:23)
These daily posts and pictures are helping me number my days.
I’m still not sure what I am learning in this time… it’s still early.
I appreciate that some of you are sharing these experiences with me.
But I’m not doing this for you or for work – but to gain a heart of wisdom.
