PLEASE READ THIS FIRST: Matthew 24:1-8
What do you sense the Lord saying to you in this passage?
“All these are the beginning of birth pains.” (Matthew 24:8)
Have you ever heard someone say that we are in the last days?
In my 30+ years of church work I’ve heard it many times.
There were specific dates, like Y2K, or 2012 (Mayan calendar scare).
People point to the decline of the church and moral standards.
This is true, but knowing history can give us perspective.
There have been many such times, and we are not in the worse.
“See to it that you are not alarmed.” (Matthew 24:6)
Our focus should not be on fear, but on faith.
Jesus is birthing a new world, and we are its ‘doulas‘.
Our attention shouldn’t be on our church institutions or buildings.
Nor should we be huddling in safe places, hiding from the world.
Our job is to embody love, joy, peace, grace and hope.
Times of crisis and division are Jesus moments.
Now is the time to show the world what grace and love look like!
Lord Jesus, help me not to be sidetracked by the brokenness of the church and the world. Now is the time for me to rise up with You to show the world what grace and love look like!
