Reflecting on Acts 2:14-41
“Jesus of Nazareth was a man accredited by God to you by miracles, wonders and signs, which God did among you through him.” (Acts 2:22)
Many Christians think of Jesus as a miracle worker.
They assume that miracles were easy for Him because He was God.
Like superman with superpowers hidden by Clark Kent’s normal clothes.
I affirm that somehow Jesus is ‘God with us’, in the flesh.
But Jesus did not have God powers; God worked through Him.
Jesus was a man, like us, and worked miracles like we might.
Jesus walked on water because God enabled Him too.
Jesus healed people, raised Lazarus, changed water to wine, as a human.
Jesus was what Adam and Eve, and us, were designed to be.
He was a God-like human living, loving and leading in a God-like way.
As we pursue God-like character, God works in and through us too.
God performed miracles, wonders and signs through the first disciples.
And God has continues to do this through Jesus’s followers through history.
Our goal is not to perform miracles; our goal is to live, love and lead like Jesus.
When we do this, God will back us up with His power too.
PRAYER
Lord Jesus, You show us what it looks like to live, to love and to lead like God. I am not seeking miraculous power, but I do ask for God's power to back me up as I seek to love people like You did.

The disciples lived with theirRabbi for three years, to be like their Master. To be like Jesus unto others is the goal of Christians. In practicing the Way i need to become more and more likeJesus. Others need to see Jesus living in me. I need to be like Christ unto others.
