Reflecting on John 12:20-33
“The hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified.” (John 12:23)
Jesus speaks of His impending suffering and death as being ‘glorified’.
In being glorified this way, He will glorify the Name of the Father.
The word ‘glorify’ means to show the real value or weight of something.
The real value of God and Jesus is revealed by His suffering and death.
But how does suffering and dying reveal God’s greatness and goodness?
In Exodus 33, Moses asks to see God’s glory.
God promises to reveal His goodness by declaring His Name.
In Exodus 34 God reveals the glorious goodness of His Name: “The Lord, the Lord, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness, maintaining love to thousands, and forgiving wickedness, rebellion and sin.” (Exodus 34:6-7)
The glorious goodness of God is His love and compassion, as revealed in Jesus.
This is how how God shines. when His amazing love is expressed.
This is what many, like the Greek Jews, wanted to see in Jesus.
This is how God wants us to glorify Him, be expressing His amazing love.
God doesn’t just want us to sing ‘glory glory’, He wants us to show it like Jesus!
PRAYER
Lord Jesus, I want to see and experience God's glorious love in You. Other people want to see and experience it too. Glorify God's Name through me, as I reflect the glorious goodness of Your love.

Daily I need to be practicing the way, to be more and more like Jesus. Others need to see Christ Jesus living in me as I live forHim. Help me Lord on my way living for Jesus.
