A tender healer!

Posted on October 4, 2016October 3, 2016 by Norm

THE STORY OF JESUS: Matthew 12:15-21
“A bruised reed he will not break, and a smoldering wick he will not snuff out…” (Matthew 12:20)
A damaged reed is very fragile, a smoldering wick is almost burnt out.
Two examples of people barely hanging on, ready to crash.
I know many bruised reeds and smoldering wicks.
Too often we are harsh or impatient with such people.
We’re frustrated that they’re not getting stronger.
Jesus – God’s promised Savior – is not like that.
He does not shoo away or shame the broken, the hurting, the desperate.
“Till he has brought justice through to victory.” (Matthew 12:20)
God through Jesus is determined to restore the bruised and weary.
He has a better day planned, He will not quit until He finishes.
If you are experiencing depression, some may challenge your lack of faith.
But not Jesus, He will not break your bruised soul.
He will not douse your embers, snuff out what little light remains.
The world may not stand by you, but He will, He is!
And one day you will experience justice, victory!
In His name you can put your hope!
What do you sense the Lord saying to you?
PRAYER
Lord, when everyone else is beating us down, You lift us up. I pray especially for the bruised souls I know, who need to feel and know Your healing presence.

    Servant leadership.
The people followed in large crowds and He healed them. The focus was on the people and not His own needs.
Servanthood is the path to success. Jesus is with those who are weak and underfoot. This is not the path that leaders take today but it is the ultimate path to victory and it is the path that I too must take. I must be a servant of the King.

    Make me a servant
    Humble and meek
    Lord let me lift up
    Those who are weak
    And may the prayer
    Of my heart always be
    Make me a servant
    Make me a servant
    Make me a servant today

think about it!

I do not believe in fate that falls on men however they act; but I do believe in fate that falls on them unless they act.
