Sabbatical Day 9

Thursday, May 9, 2024
This was a day of last minute details and preparation. And now the packing begins, and by packing I mean unpacking. We can only take what fits into our backpacks, and whatever we take we have to walk with every day. A little this and a little that doesn’t seem like much, but how quickly it adds a pound to the weight. How much do we really need? This makes me think of Jesus’s words to his disciples, “Take nothing for the journey — no staff, no bag, no bread, no money, no extra shirt.” (Luke 9:3) Talk about travelling light. The lesson here is about trust. Maybe I also need to trust that the Lord will provide what we need along the way?

  1. Brought the car in for repairs. Waiting at the Coffee Shop for 3 hrs.
  2. Spent that time confirming accommodations, setting up our credit card for travel, looking into e-sim cards for data, and figuring out how trains and buses work in Europe.
  3. Drove to pick up a few more euros and sundry items.
  4. Went for our last walk along the Blair Trail
  5. Explained to Nathan what he needs to know for maintaining our home.
  6. Our last pizza night with a movie: “The Adam Project”.

  1. As long as you have your passports, all your meds & access to funds, the only other thing you need is a someone, Jesus is your traveling companion, actually, He’s your guide, all the way, every day. Have an incredible experience, but stay safe & stay well.
    Godspeed.
