SCRIPTURE: Ephesians 1-3
“I keep asking… so that you may know him better.” (Ephesians 1:17)
Paul is writing to people who know Jesus Christ, and believe!
Yet he keeps on praying that they would know Him better… why?
Do you notice how HUGE Paul’s understanding of God’s grace is?
These chapters are an extended monologue on God’s super-abundant goodness.
He is gushing, and still he hasn’t plumbed the depths.
Even if we think we know God’s love, how little we know it.
Paul keeps on praying because he wants us to know and experience it’s fullness.
“That you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.” (Ephesians 3:19)
If I asked you to describe God’s grace in your own words, how long could you go on?
An ocean full of ink would not be able to capture it.
Immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine!
What do you sense the Lord saying to you?
PRAYER
Lord, I cannot embrace the ocean of Your love, but I can allow it to surround me. May I grasp how wide and long and high and deep is Your love. And may I overflow with it to others!
