Through us be the glory!

Posted on July 27, 2026July 27, 2026 by Norm
Reflecting on John 11:1-10

“This sickness will not end in death. No, it is for God’s glory so that God’s Son may be glorified through it.” (John 11:4)

Moses discovered that God’s glory, goodness and love are the same (Exodus 33:18-19, 34:6-7).
God shines most when God shows compassion, grace. mercy, kindness, forgiveness, etc.
Jesus revealed God’s glorious goodness and love every time He healed people.
His ultimate mission was to restore God’s glory on earth, as it is in heaven.
Not even death can stop Him; in fact He came to end the curse of death.

Every sickness and struggle in this world is an opportunity for God’s glory.
Like Jesus, we can be the ones that reveal God’s glory.
As we respond with grace, compassion, kindness, etc., God is glorified.
When we feed someone that is hungry, God is glorified.
When a doctor heals someone that is sick, God is glorified.

When a friend comforts someone that is grieving, God is glorified.
When a loved one sits with someone that is dying, God is glorified.
When Christians show love to ‘unlovables’ or ‘untouchables’, God is glorified.
God’s kindness to us in Jesus is how His glory is revealed to us.
God’s kindness through us in Jesus is how His glory is shared with others.

PRAYER
Lord Jesus, You want us to do more than sing songs of 'glory'. You invite us to share God's glorious goodness with those who are struggling, sick and dying. Help us to be Your glory, to shine with Your light day and night!

The Light of the world is Jesus. I am an instrument of His peace so that I may shine that Light which is in me – be like Christ unto them by my fruit – the fruit of the Spirit. I need to be a channel of His peace showing His glory in my living for Jesus.

think about it!

I am only one, but still I am one. I cannot do everything, but still I can do something; and because I cannot do everything, I will not refuse to do something that I can do.
