To know God, and myself, like THIS!

Posted on July 3, 2026July 3, 2026 by Norm
Reflecting on John 7:25-36

“You do not know him, but I know him because I am from him and he sent me.” (John 7:28-29)

I believe that Jesus is somehow one with God (later theology described this as the trinity).
But I don’t think that Jesus says ‘I am from Him’ because of His eternal, divine nature.
Jesus put aside His divine nature and knowledge to become fully human.
He knew that He was a God-commissioned, God-sent human.
Jesus experienced relational oneness with God, like Adam and Eve originally did.

This is our problem, that we do not know God that we are from God, and sent by Him.
But this is the LIFE that Jesus is offering us too: “This is eternal life: that they know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom You have sent.” (John 17:3)
We too can be from God, sent by God to work WITH, LIKE and FOR Jesus.
When we work with Jesus like this, our authority and destiny is with God too.

Eternal life isn’t just never-ending life; it is a restored relationship with God.
Restored harmony and fellowship with God, knowing who God is, and who we are!
Jesus became what we were made to be, so that we might be what we were made to be.
Jesus knew His identity, character and purpose in relationship to God.
Do you know your own identity, character and purpose in relation to God?

PRAYER
Lord Jesus, I do not want a religion, I long for a relationship. Help me to KNOW God and You like this, and to already experience life to the full now, as I go through this life WITH, LIKE and FOR You!

Adam and Eve walked and talked with the Lord in the garden, as they did their work before the fall.
I need to walk and talk with Him as I work in His vineyard every day, walking, talking with my Saviour throughout the day.

1 When we walk with the Lord
in the light of his word,
what a glory he sheds on our way!
While we do his good will,
    he abides with us still,
and with all who will trust and obey.
    Refrain:
Trust and obey, for there’s no other way
to be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.

think about it!

Good and evil both increase at compound interest. That is why the little decisions you and I make every day are of such infinite importance.
