Reflecting on Luke 12:22-34
“And how much more valuable you are than birds!” (Luke 12:24)
To be made in God’s image speaks to our identity, our purpose and our character.
(I will reflect on purpose and character in the next two reflections).
To be made in God’s image means to be God’s children (see Genesis 5:1-3).
We are a ‘chip off the old block’, a reproduction of God.
As such, we are loved, valued and blessed by God, more than all creation.
We worry because we’ve lost our connection to, and confidence in God.
We’re fearful of bad things because we are not confident in God’s goodness!
Like any good parent yet so much more, God is for us, not against us.
God wants the very best for us, not to hurt, condemn or punish us.
God generously lavishes enough goodness for all people (Matthew 5:45).
We have unleashed evil on the world, but God still holds the reins.
Bad things happen, but never outside of the care and purpose of God.
We may go through valleys, but He will lead us through them!
Worry does not help, but giving ourselves to the God Who cares does.
Keep telling yourself, ‘I am valuable to God, God will get me through this!’
PRAYER
Lord Jesus, thank you for reminding me, and for showing me by Your own life, that I am valued by God. Thank You for assuring me that no matter what valley or storm I experience, NOTHING can separate me from the love of God. I AM God’s precious and much-loved child!

Who am I? I am a child of God, a Kingdom kid. Whose am I? A child of the King. As my Father, He continues to lead and guide me along the Way as long as I put my small hand into His LARGE hand, trusting in His Word, guiding me throughout this day walking in His ‘SonShine’ always.
