PLEASE READ THIS FIRST: Matthew 25:14-30
What do you sense Jesus saying to you in this passage?
“For whoever has will be given more, and they will have an abundance.” (Matthew 25:29)
In our sin-messed, selfish world, this principle is true.
The rich get richer and the poor get poorer.
But in God’s love-blessed, selfless kingdom, it is true too.
Those who bless others are more blessed, those who don’t are not.
The kingdom of God operates on the principle of self-giving love.
God is generous self-giving love, and we were created in His image.
Humanity reversed this way of blessing, and experienced the curse.
We seek blessing by taking, hoarding, serving ourselves.
But in this survival of the fittest world, misery abounds.
The wages of selfishness is darkness, misery and regret.
We are blessed to be a blessing, and this is the way of blessing.
God has blessed us with resources, abilities and opportunities.
How we invest them – selfishly or selflessly – makes all the difference.
Am I experiencing and expressing the kingdom way of blessing?
Lord Jesus, it is more blessed to give than to receive. Help me to multiply Your blessing to me by investing it in others, so that what I have can multiply and spread even more!
