PLEASE READ THIS FIRST: Matthew 7

What do you sense the Lord saying to you in this passage?

“How much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts!” (Matthew 7:11)
Jesus describes a God that is eager to respond to seekers.
When we A.S.K. (ask, seek, knock), God is eager to help us.
The analogy he gives is of a loving father, eager to help their child.
We know in general how a parents loves their child (sadly, not always).
Jesus knows this too, even though human nature is bad.
The key words for me are “how much more”.
However much the best of us love our children, “how much more?”
Being a parent, knowing my love for my children, this speaks.
Not everyone experiences God in this personal, parental way.
For some, their own parents make this tough… bad parents.
Lately I’ve been asking, seeking and knocking in specific ways.
I don’t know how God will respond, but I am trusting it will be good.
God is good, God loves us, God wants to help and bless us.
This is bedrock for me, all my hope rests on this foundation.
PRAYER
Lord Jesus, thank you for revealing God as good, loving and responsive. As I think about my own parental love, I am blessed by HOW MUCH MORE!
