PLEASE READ THIS FIRST: Psalm 84
What do you sense the Lord saying to you in this passage?
“They go from strength to strength, till each appears before God.” (Psalm 84:7)
This song speaks of those journeying to the temple in Jerusalem.
For OT Jews, the annual temple feasts were a highlight.
For many Jesus followers today there’s no place for a pilgrimage.
Jesus has made us God’s temples; we can be with God anywhere.
But we still need to set our hearts on being with God.
Do we “yearn, even faint” (v.2) for time alone with God.
Is prayer time better than a thousand days anywhere else (v.10).
Am I a pilgrim, a God-seeker that prioritizes time with God?
Those who do become stronger (from strength to strength).
Pursuing God becomes an energizing experience of God.
I am on a faith journey, a spiritual quest, a pilgrimage.
There are times I feel like giving up, but I refuse to give up.
“My heart and my flesh cry out for the living God.” (Psalm 84:2)
As Paul says it, “I want to know Jesus!” (Philippians 3:7-11)
PRAYER
Lord, my pilgrimage is not to a place, but to a person… to you, and through you to God. This is eternal life, knowing God and you! Strengthen me in this pursuit!
“For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord bestows favor and honor; no good thing does he withhold from those whose walk is blameless” I know I am not blameless – at least on my own – I know it Christ I am made whole and blameless. Yet God has bestowed favour and honour on me – He has given me many good things. Forgive me Lord when I forget that and I strike out on my own. I know better – do not withhold your love and counsel to me – I do want to grow closer to you in faith!
Pilgrim’s Progress.
Daiy I am walking in His Sonshine. He is the Light upon my path. He shows me the way to travel. My strength for today and all my tomorrows come from the Lord Who created me to serve Him. Guide me by Your Spirit Lord that I keep my eyes on You and hopen my ears that I hear Your Word for my life. Being alive means living for Jesus. There is no other way.
When We Walk With The Lord
In The Light Of His Word,
What A Glory He Sheds On Our Way!
While We Do His Good Will,
He Abides With Us Still,
And With All Who Will Trust And Obey!
Trust And Obey!
For There’s No Other Way
To Be Happy In Jesus,
But To Trust And Obey.
