To bless the one who blesses me!

Posted on May 22, 2024May 23, 2024 by Norm

PLEASE READ THIS FIRST: Luke 12:35-41

What do you sense the Lord saying to you in this passage?

“He will dress himself to serve and wait on them.” (Luke 12:37)
Can you imagine this, Jesus serving you for your faithful service?
Jesus wearing an apron and holding a serving tray… for me?
Jesus wants us to know how much God values our service to him.
Especially when the wait is long and the work is hard.
Jesus has given us a mission: to bring his grace to the world.
To share his blessing, bring his peace and demonstrate his mercy.
This is what he is asking of us while he is absent.
His love for the world is so strong he wants us to share it.
And he will be extremely happy to find us doing this.
Jesus wants to inspire his disciples to live and love like him.
Do I share his heart for serving the rest of Jesus’s family?
Am I working for him like a faithful servant entrusted with a task?
My goal is not to be waited on by Jesus, but to see his pleasure.
To see his smile and hear him say: ‘thank you for loving those I loved!’
PRAYER
Lord, help me to want to serve… not for selfish reas (for what you will do for me) but for the joy of pleasing you, and blessing others!

    Being ready all the time! “You also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.” I can’t pause living a ‘Jesus follower life’ – take a vacation – going to live it up for awhile and then go back to being ‘straight’? No, the life a live as I grow closer to Jesus is a continued quest to do what Jesus would have me do – to follow the HS’s leading. Anything else become futile and ‘wheel spin’ – living but not going anywhere! Lord, help me to be ready all the time For you!

    Jesus came to serve. Remember how He washed the feet of the disciples? I too, as a Christian, a follower of my Saviour, need to serve Him each and every day by my actions and words. He enables me to do that each day with His Spirit to guard and guide me along the Way. Today is another Lord’s Day – a day to be His witness by serving Him. His will be done. Others need to see Christ Jesus living in me. Each day I need to be living for Jesus. All for Jesus.

    Living for Jesus, a life that is true,
    Striving to please Him in all that I do;
    Yielding allegiance, glad-hearted and free,
    This is the pathway of blessing for me.
    Refrain:
    O Jesus, Lord and Savior, I give myself to Thee,
    For Thou, in Thy atonement, didst give Thyself for me;
    I own no other Master, my heart shall be Thy throne;
    My life I give, henceforth to live, O Christ, for Thee alone.

think about it!

Do not follow where the path may lead. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.
