Remaking the world with Jesus!

PLEASE READ THIS FIRST: Matthew 13:36-43

What do you sense the Lord saying to you in this passage?

“The field is the world, and the good seed stands for the people of the kingdom.” (Matthew 13:38)
In his explanation, Jesus makes it clear that this world is God’s kingdom.
The problem in the kingdom is not the kingdom itself, but the people in the kingdom.
The enemy sowed bad seed in God’s kingdom (Genesis 3), and humans became his people.
Humans have sown bad seed ever since, making the world a dominion of darkness.
As Jesus followers, our hope for the kingdom is not to leave this world.
Our hope is for evil to be weeded out of the world, and for humans to shine again!
“The righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father.” (Matthew 13:43)
If we claim to follow Jesus, we need to be good seed, producing good crops.
Our deeds, reflecting Jesus, must be bright and good, making things better.
“Whoever has ears, let them hear.” (Matthew 13:43)
Having ears to hear does not just mean understanding this, it means living it.
The Lord is helping us to change, to produce the kind of fruit that remakes his world.
Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self control!
Ears that hear result in lives that produce, so that what we do will not be weeded out.
PRAYER
Lord, may your kingdom come… in my day to day thoughts, words and deeds. Help me to make my place in your world a better place by how I live in it.

  1. “The Son of Man will send out his angels, and they will weed out of his kingdom everything that causes sin and all who do evil.” Angels at work. Dark angels of Satan as well. There’s a ‘kid’s praise song’ that has the phrase ‘ I’ve got angels watching over me’. These messengers of God are sent out at the time of the end – the harvest. They will separate out those doomed for destruction from the those who are the children of God. Seems like their work is mainly then, but sometimes in scripture we see they are sent out on a special missions. I wonder if they have been surrounding me at critical times as well? What I do feel blessed about is that I am surrounded by God’s love through Father/Son and Holy Spirit – and they angels He sends to protect me! What a blessed thought!

  2. Good seed.
Produces a good harvest. As a Christian, a follower of Christ, I need to produce good fruit – a good harvest – everyday by my words and deeds. Others need to see who I am by my living for Jesus. It is He Who gives the increase. It is by His Spirit enabling me to produce good fruit. Others will see that we are Christians by our love, love for God and love for others. May others see that I am walking in your SonShine this day and always.

    A new commandment
    I give unto you
    That you love one another
    As I have loved you,
    That you love one another
    As I have loved you.
    By this shall all men
    Know you are My disciples
If you have love one to another.
