One again I see the Father and son/daughter relationship in this passage. As a father hears and listens to his children, so God listens to all of our talks with Him and we know He gives all good gifts according to His will. Being part of the family also means we know what we need to ask for.
As part of the family I also need to pray for my brothers in the Lord. As His children we do sin but we do not live in sin since we live in His light. Kids of the Kingdom, that is who we are. And because of that fact, we are able to discern what is right and good and true. Help me Lord to live in that truth each and every day with my head, my heart and my hands. Help me on my journey of joy each day.
O Jesus, Thou hast promised to all who follow Thee
That where Thou art in glory there shall Thy servant be.
And Jesus, I have promised to serve Thee to the end;
O give me grace to follow, my Master and my Friend.
O let me see Thy footprints, and in them plant mine own;
My hope to follow duly is in Thy strength alone.
O guide me, call me, draw me, uphold me to the end;
And then in Heaven receive me, my Savior and my Friend.
