Observations/Application
After doing BibleGateway – reading the Bible in a year, I come here and . . . you have got to be kidding – 16 chapters 🙂 But then it is the Word of the Lord and it is still very early and I have the time and . . . enjoy the reading 🙂
The story starts with the historical perspective – the historical records. Our ‘trees’ are very important even today for they must be ingrafted into the tree of LIFE which is the tree planted by the waters receiving its vitals for daily living.
Hidden in the reading is the person Jabez – a book many have read today that their territory would be increased. Standing on the promises of God.
Throughout I hear once again, the battle belonged to the Lord or the people were unfaithful. I too must remain faithful and walk daily in His SonShine so that my descendants may walk in that LIGHT. It is my prayer that the Lord may be with them.
David inquired of God what to do. I too need to inquire of God how to live for Him each day. I need to pray each day and inquire how to walk. I need to place my hand in His so that He will lead and guide me in the way to go.
The closing of the reading is something I need to do – to praise His name and make His name known and tell the next generation the mighty acts of God.
Prayer
Help me this day to tell of Your greatness . Help me this day to see You – Your greatness and glory. Thank You Lord.
Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised,
In the city of our God,
In the mountain of His holiness.
Beautiful in elevation, the joy of the whole earth,
Is Mount Zion, on the sides of the north,
The city of the great King.
Is Mount Zion, on the sides of the north,
The city of the great King.
