Jesus assures me of God’s love!

SCRIPTURE: Psalm 41
OBSERVATIONS/APPLICATION
The Messiah is known as the Son of David, an heir to the throne who will be like his ancestor.
When we read the Psalm, we not only see into the heart of David, we see into the life of the Messiah.
Jesus, the Son of David, the Messiah, cares about weak people, He is betrayed by a close friend with whom He shares bread (v.9), and He trusts God to take care of Him.
But because Jesus takes on our role of sinner, and carries the burden of our sin, shame and guilt, God abandons Him to the “wishes of His enemies” and does not save Him when He is in trouble.
This is why Jesus cries out (quoting His royal ancestor), ‘My God, my God, why have Your forsaken me?’
David models for us the kind of humble faith we need, trusting in God to protect and provide for us!
Jesus (the Son of David) shows us how far God goes to accomplish this: He abandons His sinless, humble and obedient Servant to sin, death and hell, in order to break their hold on us.
As seen in Jesus, we know that God will guard us and keep us alive, he will bless us in the land and not hand us over to the wishes of our enemies.
Jesus is my assurance that NOTHING and NOONE can separate me from the love of God.
He will let me be with Him forever!!!!
What do you sense the Lord saying to you?
PRAYER
Lord, I entrust my life and well-being and protection to You. I will praise You for ever and ever. Amen and Amen.

    Observations/Application:
Blessed are those who live God’s way – doing what He desires – people of integrity. God is their God. And yet I, I have turned my ways from God’s ways. I have not treated my fellow mankind the way God treats His people. People are leaving me, turning against me because of the happenings in my life. But God is always there. He is ever present and He upholds me because I live for Jesus and I need to be evermore present in His presence. He covers my back today and forevermore and I will always give thanks for all what He has done for me. Always is a long time.

    Prayer:
At all times and in all circumstances, help me Lord to stand firm on Your promises that others me see Christ Jesus living in me.

Standing on the promises of Christ my King,
Through eternal ages let His praises ring.
Glory in the highest I will shout and sing
I’m standing on the promises of God.

Standing on the promises that cannot fail
When the howling storms of doubt and fear assail.
By the living word of God I shall prevail.
I’m standing on the promises of God.

Standing, standing, standing on the promises of God my Savior.
Standing, standing, standing on the promises of God.

What a fellowship, what a joy divine,
    Leaning on the everlasting arms.
What a blessedness, what a peace is mine,

    Leaning on the everlasting arms.

    I’m leaning, leaning
Safe and secure from all alarms.
I’m leaning, I’m leaning, leaning on the everlasting arms

think about it!

Let us think often that our only business in this life is to please God.
