    Observations:
    The altar built as a reminder as a witness – a witness among the people that the Lord is God. A visual to remind the people.
    Joshua’s farewell once again reminded the people of God’s faithfulness. Keep covenant of the Lord or His anger will be against you.
    Joshua recalls God’s faithfulness of the past days how the Lord delivered His people – all the way God leads His people. He sent a hornet ahead of His people which drove out the people.
    Joshua once again asked the people to throw away their foreign gods and the people renewed their vow to serve the living God and once again a stone served as a reminder of the covenant made to serve the Lord. What a witness = ‘Israel served the Lord throughout the lifetime of Joshua and of the elders who outlived him!’

    Application:
    What are my memory stones?
    How do I remember God’s faithful acts to His people today? To me? I too need reminders of His faithfulness so that daily my walk continues to be in His SonShine. His Story Joshua told and reminded the people again and again. His Story I too must retell so that this generation walks with Him and can tell and show the next generation His Story. I need to live Joshua’s words each day

    but as for me and my household, we will serve the living God.

    Prayer:
    Help me each day Lord to serve You and obey You. Speak to me so that I my hear Your voice saying this is the way. Walk in it.

    ll the way my Savior leads me;
    What have I to ask beside?
    Can I doubt His tender mercy,
    Who through life has been my Guide?
    Heav’nly peace, divinest comfort,
    Here by faith in Him to dwell!
    For I know, whate’er befall me,
    Jesus doeth all things well;
    For I know, whate’er befall me,
    Jesus doeth all things well.

    All the way my Savior leads me,
    Cheers each winding path I tread;
    Gives me grace for every trial,
    Feeds me with the living Bread.
    Though my weary steps may falter,
    And my soul athirst may be,
    Gushing from the Rock before me,
    Lo! A spring of joy I see;
    Gushing from the Rock before me,
    Lo! A spring of joy I see.

    All the way my Savior leads me
    O the fullness of His love!
    Perfect rest to me is promised
    In my Father’s house above.
    When my spirit, clothed immortal,
    Wings its flight to realms of day
    This my song through endless ages—
    Jesus led me all the way;
    This my song through endless ages—
    Jesus led me all the way.

think about it!

Salvation may be personal, but it is never private. We have been saved to serve.
