PLEASE READ THIS FIRST: Luke 11:27-28
What do you sense the Lord saying to you in this passage?
“Blessed is the mother who gave you birth and nursed you.” (Luke 11:27)
Was Mary especially blessed because she was Jesus’ mother?
What would make a person especially blessed by God?
“Blessed are those who hear the word of God and obey it.” (Luke 11:28)
I am not more blessed as a minister and work in a church.
Everyone is special to God and blessed as a much-loved child.
Everyone has a special purpose from God in the world.
But how do we respond to our special relationship and purpose?
“Blessed are those who hear the word of God and obey it.” (Luke 11:28)
Do we obey God’s call to live for God with value and a purpose?
No one is more blessed because of their position or ethnicity.
God does not elevate some as saints, for we are all sanctified!
It is our heart response to God that God seeks and blesses.
If you want to feel blessed today, live like God’s child!
If you want to feel blessed today, live for God’s purpose!
PRAYER
Lord, I am God’s child, created for God’s purpose. Help me to enjoy this special identity. But even more, help me to “hear and obey” it!
“Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it.” What a blessing it is to have the Bible – to learn and receive new insights each day – even if at times I’m challenged – and I need to be! Help me Lord to have a continued desire to live more nearly the way you lead me by your HS!

I need to live for Jesus each and every day. As He came to serve so I too need to serve in His name. Others need to see Christ Jesus living in me. And so each day I start the day in His presence, hearing His Word and walking in His SonShine doing His will. His Word – the BIBLE – is Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth. Trust and obey.
When we walk with the Lord
in the light of his word,
what a glory he sheds on our way!
While we do his good will,
he abides with us still,
and with all who will trust and obey.
