The kingdom is like…

Posted on January 26, 2023January 25, 2023 by Norm

PLEASE READ THIS FIRST: Matthew 13:31-35

What do you sense the Lord saying to you in this passage?

“The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed…” (Matthew 13:31)
“The kingdom of heaven is like yeast…” (Matthew 13:33)

God’s kingdom is this world (creation) under God-like human rulers.
Jesus is that God-like human ruler, who does what Adam and Eve failed to do.
He does not come with a huge army, or great wealth, or worldwide exposure.
He comes small, he comes weak, he comes gentle, he comes hidden.
His influence is invisible, his impact on the world seemingly small.
His way is weak – love not war, grace not power, parable not persuasion.
And yet somehow, despite being so long ago, his influence spans history.
His impact in a middle of nowhere part of the world is now global.
He has worked himself into the whole batch of dough, and he is rising!
The people of the world come and perch in his branches, finding rest and shade.
Jesus is reclaiming this world for love, joy, peace, etc… for God and for us!
If ever you think Jesus is small or insignificant, think again.
If ever you think his way is weak, consider how strong and enduring his love has been!
PRAYER
Lord, this world belongs to you, you fill it like yeast, you bless it like the largest of plants. God’s kingdom has come, and is coming! And we can rest in your love, forever!

    The Good News of salvation through Jesus continues and needs to spread and permeate everywhere in our world (dough) – like yeast in dough “…until it worked all through the dough.” It has to grow and spread its branches everywhere. I too am to be like yeast – to make a difference to help encourage others to find Jesus and receive the Spirit – who will like yeast change each person that receives him. Help me to be faithful in encouraging others to look and find you Lord Jesus! May your Kingdom increase Lord Jesus!

    God’s kingdom starts small but grows large. From the smallest seed into a ‘tree’ that birds are able to rest there. A tree of life.
    The yeast although small in relation to the flour, and yet amazing results in its rising. His kingdom will grow and spread throughout the earth as we also pray that His Kingdom come. Just think of the tiny beginnings with His disciples and its growth until it will be fully grown one day – that it will fill the whole earth.

    1 Seek ye first the kingdom of God
    And His righteousness;
    And all these things shall be added unto you.
    Hallelu, Hallelujah!

    2 Ask, and it shall be given unto you;
    Seek, and you shall find.
    Knock, and it shall be opened unto you.
    Hallelu, Hallelujah!

    3 Man shall not live by bread alone,
    But by every word
    That proceeds out from the mouth of God.
    Hallelu, Hallelujah!

think about it!

There is no limit to what God can do through us if we are His yielded and purified people, worshiping and showing forth His glory and His faithfulness.
