Choosing his path!

PLEASE READ THIS FIRST: Psalm 16

What do you sense the Lord saying to you in this passage?

“You make known to me the path of life.” (Psalm 16:11)
Life is filled with many possible paths, with dead ends, detours and distractions.
Every day we face decisions as to which way to be, to step, to choose and to respond.
Which way is the right way, the true way to the life I am hoping for?
“I am the way and the truth and the life, no one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6)
David has made the Lord his life guide, the one he will always keep his eye on (16:7).
This is how I feel about Jesus, I want Jesus to be my life guide.
He knows by experience what it means to trust God, even when facing death (Acts 2:31).
By his Spirit he counsels me through the day and instructs me through the night (16:7).
He assures me he will not abandon me, and that I will be secure with him (16:9-10).
The path of life is to love God and to love people, and to act accordingly.
Jesus makes this path known to me, and points me in this direction when facing choices.
Living for self, for comfort or for pleasure is a dead end, as is evident in our world.
The challenge is actually living his way, especially the world around me makes it hard.
But I will keep my eyes on him, he will lead me to joy in his presence (16:11)!
PRAYER
Lord, your way of love is the right way to live. Help me as I navigate difficult areas, to discern the best way to be, to step, to choose and respond.

  1. The Psalmist revels in God’s goodness to Him. I too am grateful for what He has, is and will do through me. Truly I am blest. Truly God, “You make known to me the path of life”. I’ve found it in Jesus – help to live and serve you. May I bless others and be used to convey the path of life! Use me I pray!
