Living secure with Jesus!

Posted on January 8, 2023January 7, 2023 by Norm

PLEASE READ THIS FIRST: Psalm 15

What do you sense the Lord saying to you in this passage?

“Whoever does these things will never be shaken.” (Psalm 15:5)
If this is the criteria for living with God, that leaves me out.
To be blameless, righteous, to always speak truth from my heart?
To do no wrong to a neighbour, always keep an oath and never change my mind?
My desire is to be this kind of person, but I know I fall short – far short.
Did David actually feel that he was this kind of person?
The only person I can think of who lives this way was Jesus.
I see Jesus as someone who loved God and people like this.
And yet look at his life; I would say he was shaken pretty bad.
The world turned against him, and everything fell apart on the cross.
Yet God does not let the shaking win; Jesus falls but gets back up and wins!
Jesus lives the blameless life for us, and we can stand with him by faith.
Whoever trusts in Jesus may be shaken, like Jesus, but they will get up again!
“And we will dwell in the house of the Lord forever!” (Psalm 23:6)
Who may dwell with the Lord… anyone who admits that they are not righteous.
PRAYER
Lord, I admit that I am not blameless. I believe that you are, and that I am forgiven and saved with you! I commit myself to doing my best to be blameless, always trusting that despite my failures, I will stand secure with you!

The standard is so high: “The one whose walk is blameless,
who does what is righteous…” and it continues. There’s no way that I can meet that on my own. I need Jesus – the perfect one to stand in for me before the Father – so that He sees Jesus and Jesus advocates for me – forgives me and sets me free! I believe it – it is my security. I’m willing to take risks in serving him if He walks with me. “Lord, lead me, guide me along the way”. That my way is your way!

Who dwells on God’s holy hill? Those whose walk is blameless, doing what is right with my words and deeds. This I need to do in my lifetime but it takes but moment to fail. The joy of the Lord God is my strength and He will help me along the way as I continue to live for Jesus. Continue to lead me and guide me so that others may see You in me. Help me daily Lord to keep my eyes on You so that I do what is right and true. Your will be done.

Living for Jesus, a life that is true,
    Striving to please Him in all that I do;
    Yielding allegiance, glad-hearted and free,
This is the pathway of blessing for me.

think about it!

God allows us to experience the low points of life in order to teach us lessons we could not learn in any other way. The way we learn those lessons is not to deny the feelings but to find the meanings underlying them.
