With the measure you use!?

PLEASE READ THIS FIRST: Ezekiel 7-8

What do you sense the Lord saying to you in this passage?

“I will deal with them according to their conduct,
and by their own standards I will judge them.” (Ezekiel 7:27)

In Ezekiel 7:27 we see that it is really the people that punish themselves.
God is dealing with them in the same way that they conduct themselves with others.
God is judging them using the same standards that they used to judge others.
They are experiencing their very own conduct and detestable practices.
After centuries of grace, God is finally giving them what they’ve pursued.
“Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” (Matthew 7:1-2)
The Lord wants us to love as he loves, forgive as he forgives, bless as he blesses.
Do I treat others as the Lord treats me, am I as patient and merciful and kind?
Jesus says the Law is summed up by doing to others as we want done to us (Matthew 7:12).
How we treat others shows how we really want to be treated, how we want things to be.
As Jesus followers we ought to be known for our overflowing grace and goodness.
Afterall, this is how he treats us, and how he judges us… unless we reject it!
PRAYER
Lord, I have been forgiven much, help me to forgive others in the same way. I am blessed beyond my deserving, help me to bless others beyond their deserving too.

  1. “a rod to punish the wicked…He said to me, “Have you seen this, son of man? Is it a trivial matter for the people of Judah to do the detestable things they are doing here? Must they also fill the land with violence and continually arouse my anger?” Here I sense God’s frustration again – as so often repeated – I look at myself and see my own repetitive pattern of repeat offense. Oh Lord, help me to fight against my sinful desires – guide me by your Holy Spirit and help me to stay true to the way! Thank you Jesus for saving me and for sending you HS! Thank you for your daily forgiveness – I am glad God that you do not tire – Lord I learn from my mistakes and in contriteness always come back to you when I err!

  2. Whom do I trust? Where do I place my trust? Money is not the answer.
    False security.
All too often I too put my trust in things or my own way. All too often I do what is right in my own eyes.
    But the Lord sees all.
Open my eyes Lord so I can see You. Open my heart so that I love as You love. Open my ears Lord that I hear Your voice saying this is the way. Help me to daily walk with You in the light of Your word. Your voice is the only voice I need to listen to direct my walk.

When we walk with the Lord in the light of His Word
What a glory He sheds on our way!
While we do His good will, He abides with us still
And with all who will trust and obey
