Facing my fears with Jesus!

PLEASE READ THIS FIRST: Acts 18:9-17

What do you sense the Lord saying to you in this passage?

“Do not be afraid; keep on speaking, do not be silent.” (Acts 18:9)
As a Jesus follower, I enjoy speaking about Jesus.
Not being preachy, but sharing with those who are open.
My one hesitation – or fear – is talking about Jesus unasked.
Is it fear of rejection, or fear of being viewed as a religious nut?
“For I am with you…” (Acts 18:10) – I can count on this too!
Do I sense that the Lord is at work around me, also in who I meet each day?
The Lord is setting me up each day to share him with others.
Every conversation can be an opportunity, if I listen and look for it.
Not everyone will accept it, but that is not my issue.
Some will, and these ones would miss out if I remained silent.
I don’t have to say much, even just saying the Name of Jesus has power.
Like a Trojan horse, Jesus’s Name slipped in can breach the defenses.
I am encouraged to resist my fears, and to see the Lord at work around me!
Focus on Jesus with me, as I speak with others about him.
PRAYER
Lord, when I focus on my fears, I sink. When I focus on you, the possibilities increase. I choose to focus on you!

  1. God tells Paul not to worry – but still the Jews tried – but God influenced Gallio to deflect the dispute and diffuse it: “So he drove them off.” We can expect the same from our God – He is faithful and will help us especially in times of stress – we have to grow in trust – I have to grow in trust. Just look in my own past and I can see it – help me see it now and always! Thank you Lord for your grace!

  2. Emmanuel.
    God with us.
As God was with Paul as he witnessed for the Lord so too He is with you and me as we too witness/proclaim His name by our words and deeds. Others will know that we are Christians by our love, by our words and deeds. God gives His people strength.
