He hasn’t given up on them!

PLEASE READ THIS FIRST: Acts 9:1-9

What do you sense the Lord saying to you in this passage?

“Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?” ( Acts 9:4)
What encourages me in this story is how Jesus speaks to Saul.
Saul is very religious, but his heart is closed and opposed to Jesus.
He has no love for his neighbour, which is one of the greatest commands in God’s Law.
Yet God graciously calls out to him through Jesus, the Savior that seeks the lost.
Is this unique to Paul, or is Jesus calling out to others who do not follow him?
“Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners — of whom I am the worst.” (1 Timothy 1:15)
I believe that Jesus continues to call out to sinners, even the worst ones.
How he does this will be unique to each person, and they might not listen right away.
But Jesus displays “his unlimited patience” (1 Timothy 1:16) by not giving up.
We give up to quickly on those who reject Jesus, and are quick to condemn them.
The Lord is not done with anyone, and until the end will keep calling them.
We may not see their conversion, but that does not mean it will not come.
Keep on praying for them to hear Jesus’s voice, and to see Jesus’s light.
We may one day discover that Jesus wants them to be his missionaries in the world!
PRAYER
Lord, forgive me for giving up to quickly on those that you have unlimited patience for. Help me to see by faith how you can use them, even if they don’t realize it yet!

  1. Lord thank you for you unending love and grace for us – this isn’t something I can understand. Help me forgive others like how you freely forgive us when we repent and confess! I’m reminded of how many times I’ve turned my face away from You and still you have opened doors!

  2. I see the light, I see the light – Jesus intervenes in a special way – Saul can’t see but he sees in a more impactful way – he sees Jesus for who he is and he is now called to be a special messenger – called as a prophet. I too am called – I am special as I carry the ‘light’ of the Gospel. Help me to be an effective messenger – sharing the Good News – and its for everyone who will listen and receive it.

  3. All too often we insist upon our own way being closed to the voice of the Lord God. He however continues to knock on the doors of our hearts asking to be let in. Remember the thief on the cross? All in God’s time. I need to continue to pray for His people who have lost their way that they may see the Light as Saul did. May we all be instruments of His peace and serve one another with the love of God at work in all of us.

    Praise Him, praise Him, all ye little children,
    God is love, God is love;
    Praise Him, praise Him, all ye little children,
    God is love, God is love.

    Love Him, love Him, all ye little children,
    God is love, God is love;
    Love Him, love Him, all ye little children,
    God is love, God is love.

    Thank Him, thank Him, all ye little children,
    God is love, God is love;
    Thank Him, thank Him, all ye little children,
    God is love, God is love.
