Listening for his voice!

Posted on February 8, 2022February 7, 2022 by Norm

PLEASE READ THIS FIRST: John 16:12-15

What do you sense the Lord saying to you in this passage?

“It is from me what he will make known to you.” (John 15:14)
The purpose of the Spirit is to help us hear the Voice of Jesus.
Jesus is not with us physically, but he is still with us.
He is our Advocate, Counselor, Comforter (v.7), working with and for us.
He continues the work that Jesus began while on earth.
When you sense ‘God loves you’, it is the Spirit of Jesus.
When you feel ‘you are not alone’, it is the Spirit of Jesus!
When you discern ‘that is not a good thing to do’, it is the Spirit of Jesus.
When you hear ‘help that person out’, it is the Spirit of Jesus.
Jesus is not with us in person, but he is with us in Spirit…
The purpose of the Spirit is not to make us charismatic.
The Spirit makes us Christ-like, bringing glory to Jesus through us.
He will always speak for love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, etc.
Through the Spirit, Jesus is training and equipping us for following Him.
Are you listening for his Voice… are you following his lead?
PRAYER
Lord, you are with me, speaking to me through the day. Help me to pay attention to your message, knowing that your words bring life, hope, wisdom and happiness.

In this passage I get a glimpse of the intricacy of God – one in trinity – the son, the Father the spirit – and how they work as one to connect with me. I need to be receptive – like Samuel I need to say speak Lord your servant is listening. It means I have shut down my own thinking and tune my hearing to what Jesus is conveying to me. Help me to be silent Lord – so that I might hear! Speak Lord your servant is listening!

Remember Samuel? Speak Lord for Your servant is listening.
I too need to listen to His voice telling me, This is the way. Walk in it.
I need open ears to hear His Voice to lead me and guide me in my daily activities. No my will by His will be done. To do this I must be in tune to hear Him. He has empowered me by His Spirit and will continue to lead me and guide me to walk in His SonShine. Help me this day to be a peacemaker and may those around me see You in me.

1 Lord, speak to me that I may speak
In living echoes of your tone.
As you have sought, so let me seek
Your erring children, lost and lone.

2 Oh, lead me, Lord, that I may lead
The wand’ring and the wav’ring feet.
Oh, feed me, Lord, that I may feed
Your hungry ones with manna sweet.

3 Oh, teach me, Lord, that I may teach
The precious truths which you impart.
And wing my words that they may reach
The hidden depths of many a heart.

4 Oh, fill me with your fullness, Lord,
    Until my very hearts o’erflows
In kindling thought and glowing word,
Your love to tell, your praise to show.

5 Oh, use me, Lord, use even me,
Just as you will, and when, and where
Until your blessed face I see,
Your rest, your joy, your glory share.

think about it!

“The most beautiful experience we can have is the mysterious. It is the fundamental emotion that stands at the cradle of true art and true science.”
