I AM, with you always!

Posted on December 9, 2021December 8, 2021 by Norm

PLEASE READ THIS FIRST: John 8:48-59

What do you sense the Lord saying to you in this passage?

“Before Abraham was born, I am!” (John 8:58)
For the most part, Jesus only speaks of his human nature.
But here we have a bold hint as to his divine origin.
Jesus makes a number of bold “I AM” statements.
And for the Jews, the “I AM” name was so holy, it should not be spoken.
God is first named “I AM WHO I AM” (Exodus 3:14) to Moses.
The name is mysterious, leaving open what and who exactly God is.
Jesus fills out the meaning: I AM the bread of life, the resurrection, the way, etc.
In other words, ‘I AM everything you need (not want) me to be!’
In Jesus, we find the fullness of God, the fullness that we need!
“In Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form.
And in Christ you have been brought to fullness.” (Colossians 2:9-10)

I believe that Jesus is the key to the mystery of God.
I believe that Jesus is the source to the fullness of LIFE.
Jesus links us to the eternal God, the everlasting, never-failing I AM!
PRAYER
Lord, YOU ARE everything I need, the key to God and life to the full! In you I find the God I need, the God I am looking for.

    “before Abraham was born, I am!” – this is such a gem – a nugget that points to whom Jesus is – John continues to make the case of who Jesus is – the ‘Word’ that was with God, is God always – beyond the limits of time. This gem testifies to Jesus divinity – that is why knowing Jesus is so important – knowing him as a saviour even more so! Thank you Jesus for saying these words and placing them in the scriptures for us through the witness of the apostle John. I treasure these words and they affirm my trust in you!

    Jesus is the answer.
    It is in Christ alone that I live for in Him I may know God and what He wants me to be. It is in Him alone I have life and life eternal. He is my Source, my Guide, my Light, my Salvation. Daily I need to live for Him.

    1
    Living for Jesus a life that is true,
    Striving to please Him in all that I do;
    Yielding allegiance, glad-hearted and free,
    This is the pathway of blessing for me.
    O Jesus, Lord and Savior,
    I give myself to Thee,
    For Thou, in Thy [redemption],*
    Didst give Thyself for me;
    I own no other Master,
    My heart shall be Thy throne,
    My life I give, henceforth to live,
    O Christ, for Thee alone.
    2
    Living for Jesus who died in my place,
    Bearing on Calv’ry my sin and disgrace;
    Such love constrains me to answer His call,
    Follow His leading and give Him my all.
    3
    Living for Jesus wherever I am,
    Doing each duty in His holy name;
    Willing to suffer affliction and loss,
    Deeming each trial a part of my cross.
    4
    Living for Jesus through earth’s little while,
    My dearest treasure, the light of His smile;
    Seeking the lost ones He died to redeem,
    Bringing the weary to find rest in Him.

think about it!

There is not one blade of grass, there is no color in this world that is not intended to make us rejoice.
