I don’t have to remain stuck!

Posted on December 6, 2021December 6, 2021 by Norm

PLEASE READ THIS FIRST: John 8:21-30

What do you sense the Lord saying to you in this passage?

“If you do not believe that I am he, you will indeed die in your sins.” (John 8:24)
Imagine Jesus’s frustration when the people he was sent to help wouldn’t listen?
Imagine you were given a cure for cancer, and were sent to distribute it.
How do you feel when many people reject your cure, mock you and walk away?
Jesus is not condemning people here, he is lamenting people’s closed hearts.
Humanity is in trouble, our world is a mess, we are screwing things up big time.
There is no less injustice or misery or suffering than there was in the past.
We are sick, we need a doctor, and Jesus is sent with a cure: “I am he!”
The cure is God’s love and mercy, God’s undeserved kindness to lost and messed up people.
Jesus did not come to condemn the world, but to save the world (John 3:17).
We need help from above; like alcoholics, we need help from a higher power.
Jesus comes from God and offers forgiveness. freedom and hope for a better life.
If we are stuck in the mud, and we refuse a tow truck’s help, we remain stuck!
This is what Jesus is saying: you will remain stuck if you refuse God’s help.
I don’t know about you, but I know I am stuck, and I eagerly accept his help!
PRAYER
Lord, I believe that you are the one that can help me. Help me to take your hand and let you help me out, rather than staying stuck where I am… forever.

Only once we have exalted the Son will we understand Jesus and through him, the Father. Lord give me faith that I don’t need to demand or expect you to show me evidence. Open my eyes so that I can see all the proof I need to see!

“if you do not believe that I am he, you will indeed die in your sins.” Jesus, I believe you are the Messiah! It all comes down to knowing Jesus as the Messiah – the one promised way back in Genesis at the beginning. I know that my present body will die, but I believe I will be resurrected – that I will see Jesus exalted – lifted up! Hallelujah – what a Saviour! I will not die but live forever with Jesus!

Open my ears Lord to hear Jesus speaking. He is the Light of the world and needs to be lifted high so that all who see Him, live for Him, do His will will truly live and do the Father’s will. Thank You Lord for Your Spirit is here to lead and guide all those who believe to do Your will. May my words and actions this day and every day be pleasing to You. Today I go forward in Your name doing Your will. Lead me and guide me always.

    Jesus my redeemer,
    Name above all names,
    Precious lamb of God, Messiah,
    Oh, for sinners slain.

    Thank you oh my father,
    For giving us your son,
    And leaving your spirit,
’til the work on earth is done.

think about it!

The nice part about being a pessimist is that you are constantly being either proven right or pleasantly surprised.
