His life overflowing in me!

PLEASE READ THIS FIRST: John 7:37-44

What do you sense the Lord saying to you in this passage?

“Rivers of living water will flow from within them.” (John 7:39)
The Feast of Tabernacles (John 7:2) celebrated God’s care in the wilderness.
It was also a time for anticipating Ezekiel’s restored temple (Ezekiel 40-42).
During the Festival the priest would pour water on the altar.
This recalled the river from the altar in Ezekiel’s vision (Ezekiel 47).
“Where the river flows everything will live.” (Ezekiel 47:9)
Jesus is saying that he is God’s refreshing river from the throne of God.
Jesus is saying that he is the source of God’s life-giving Spirit.
If we believe Jesus, and entrust our life to him, he will revive us.
God’s intent from the very beginning has been to restore paradise.
To do that, Adam (humanity) had to be restored to his position as ruler.
Jesus is the last Adam; Satan did not beat him like he beats the rest of us.
Jesus receives the Spirit of life (Genesis 2:6-7), and shares it with us.
The Spirit in us produces love, joy, peace, etc., the essence of LIFE.
Is this LIFE flowing and growing in you, are you allowing his LIFE in you?
PRAYER
Lord, I need the fruit of your Spirit growing and flowing in me if I want to experience LIFE as God meant it to be… life to the full. May your life-giving Spirit overflow in me!

  1. “Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.” Lord help me to have rivers of living water flow from me! Your Spirit makes my life worthwhile – I live because you live. I see your spirit it work in others and I pray that your spirit may work in those whom I know and pray for. Use me to make the connection – but not only me, others who also may interact and share your love, Jesus, for them. Like the people at the temple – some believed that you were the Messiah and some did not. Help me to be faithful in sharing ‘living water’.

  2. Emmanuel.
He has given us the power to go forward in His name for He is with us daily by the gift of His Spirit. He enables His people to go forward proclaiming the Good News. Living for Jesus glorifying His name and showing others that Christ is alive by our daily striving to serve Him by our words and deeds. Today I go forward in that power, serving Him and others see the He is mine and I am His.

    Spirit of the living God,
    Fall afresh on me.
    Spirit of the living God,
    Fall afresh on me.
    Break me, melt me,
    Mould me, fill me.
    Spirit of the living God,
    Fall afresh on me.

    Spirit of the living God,
    Take control of me.
    Spirit of the living God,
    Take control of me.
    Break me, melt me,
    Mould me, fill me.
    Spirit of the living God,
    Take control of me.
