God is like Jesus!

Posted on November 25, 2021November 24, 2021 by Norm

PLEASE READ THIS FIRST: John 7:25-36

What do you sense the Lord saying to you in this passage?

“You do not know him, but I know him.” (John 7:28-29)
Jesus claims to know God better than anyone else.
He claims to be from God, and sent by God (v.29).
In the centuries after Jesus, believers struggled to explain who Jesus was.
They struggled to find words to affirm both his human and divine nature.
Today most Christians quickly and easily assume that Jesus is God.
I do affirm that Jesus is from God, and therefore originally God.
But Jesus put aside his God nature to take on human nature (Philippians 2:6-7).
We can only know Jesus as God in the flesh, the incarnate Word of God.
In an important sense, the human Jesus is not God — he is God in the flesh!
This is how we know Jesus, this is how we relate to him!
If we want to know God, we need to get to know Jesus.
Knowing the bible is not enough; the bible points us to knowing Jesus.
And knowing Jesus, we know God… and this is where LIFE begins (John 17:3)!
We need to keep Jesus at the center of our faith; only he can help us know God.
PRAYER
Lord, when I see you, I am encouraged. I see grace, mercy, peace and love. I experience hope, forgiveness, strength. Help us as Jesus-followers to stay centered in you, and with you in God!

“You will look for me, but you will not find me; and where I am, you cannot come.” I know Jesus was talking specifically to the leaders who were trying to arrest Jesus – Yet I pray that this is not true – at least I don’t experience Jesus that way – I looked for him and I found him – for sure not physically but – his presence through the Spirit. Jesus refers here to his divine nature. I look forward to being with Jesus in paradise when my work here on earth is done. There he will find me – I won’t need to look for him – he says that I am his brother!

I remember the pastor asking questions regarding the children’s message and one constant answer was, ‘Jesus’. He is the answer to my daily living. He is the answer to my being. Without Him I am dead but in Him and through Him I am made alive, alive forevermore.

    Alive alive alive forevermore

    My Jesus is alive

    Alive forevermore

    Alive alive alive forevermore

    My Jesus is alive

    Sing hallelujah, sing hallelujah

    My Jesus is alive forevermore

    Sing hallelujah, sing hallelujah

    My Jesus is alive
