Who is seeking who?

Posted on June 22, 2021June 21, 2021 by Norm

PLEASE READ THIS FIRST: Luke 15:8-10

What do you sense the Lord saying to you in this passage?

“Doesn’t she… search carefully until she finds it?” (Luke 15:8)
There are billions of people in the world, and many don’t know God.
Is God just waiting for people to come to come back?
Do you have a loved one that is not seeking God?
Does God refuse to do anything for them until they make the first move?
The whole story of the bible is about a God that seeks us!
“The Lord God called to the man, ‘Where are you?’” (Genesis 3:9)
Ultimately God steps into our sin-messed world in Jesus to find and save us.
Jesus knows we are sinners and knows the mess we’ve made of our lives.
Jesus has not stopped pursuing us, and will not while life still lasts.
How this works is unique for each person, but it is always enough.
Through their relationships, experiences, thoughts, crises, Jesus is there.
He continues to whisper that question in love, ‘where are you?’
For our part, we can start looking, paying attention to our daily experiences.
Was that call, that near miss, that random thought, etc. Jesus calling me?
PRAYER
Lord, you still seek me. You are still working in my life to strengthen my closeness to you. Help me to trust that you are doing the same for others, including the one’s I love who are drifting from you!

Seeking that which is lost. How am I doing that? So much of my life is self-seeking – taking care of myself and my family. I understand that much of my busyness in life – passes by those that I can help. Are they lost or am I? Am I lost in sea of busyness- forgetting my the priority is – to seek those who have not found Jesus? Help me Lord to not only see the opportunity but to seek it and to respond – to search carefully and be open and ready to be engaged/responsive!

    Be a ‘SonSeeker.’
Seek until you find. And there will be great joy when what was lost is found. Share your joy when you find. Never loose connection with the Saviour. He desires all to find Him and be in fellowship with Him. He continues to seek His own for them to be saved and be in fellowship with Him. Help me Lord to be an instrument of Your peace.

    Verse 1
I sought the Lord, and afterward I knew
He moved my soul to seek him, seeking me.
It was not I that found, O Savior true,
No, I was found of thee.

    Verse 2
Thou didst reach forth thy hand and mine enfold,
I walked and sank not on the storm-vexed sea.
‘Twas not so much that I on thee took hold
As thou, dear Lord, on me.

    Verse 3
I find, I walk, I love, but, oh, the whole
Of love is but my answer, Lord, to thee!
For thou wert long beforehand with my soul,
    Always thou lovedst me.

think about it!

He who runs from God in the morning, will scarcely find Him the rest of the day.
