Recognizing what God is up to

Posted on March 3, 2020March 3, 2020 by Norm

PLEASE READ THIS FIRST: Matthew 17:9-13

What do you sense the Lord saying to you in this passage?

“Elijah has already come, and they did not recognize him.” (Matthew 17:12)
Is it possible that God is doing something in your life right now, and you don’t realize it?
All you can see is the hard stuff, the bad stuff, or the ‘ordinary’ stuff.
Is God doing something, but maybe like ‘Elijah’, you just don’t recognize it.
People even failed to recognize the coming of Jesus, the promised messiah!
“He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him.” (John 1:10-11)
Could it be that God is doing someone in your life, without you recognizing it?
Is He setting you up for a great opportunity to share His love?
Is He using you to help someone else make a very important decision?
Is He speaking to you through that friend who is trying to warn or challenge you?
If all things work for God’s purpose, how about THAT situation your going through?
God IS restoring His creation kingdom through the promised Son of Man (Genesis 3:15).
No person, no situation, no event, etc. is trivial in the plan of God.
What is the Lord doing in my life that I am not recognizing?
PRAYER
Lord, I need a new way of seeing, eyes of faith to recognize Your hand at work. Help me to see it, and to know that You are still finishing the work that You began in me.

Lord help me not wait aimlessly for signs when you do work right before my eyes.

Open my eyes Lord – I want to see Jesus! With eyes of faith I can see – help me overcome my own blindness – take the planks out of my eyes – the doubts, fears, anxieties that negates my confidence in you!

Dear Jesus, show me how and where I cause You to suffer. Help me to recognize You in each day.

think about it!

We need to find God, and he cannot be found in noise and restlessness. God is the friend of silence. See how nature – trees, flowers, grass- grows in silence; see the stars, the moon and the sun, how they move in silence… We need silence to be able to touch souls.
