PLEASE READ THIS FIRST: Psalm 19
What do you sense the Lord saying to you in this passage?
“The heavens declare the glory of God!” (Psalm 19:1)
I recall living in PEI, 20 minutes from the beaches along the north shore.
When I wanted to be alone with God, I would walk along the shore.
Every wave seemed to sing this refrain, ‘Majesty, worship His majesty!’
I believe raw creation draws us into God’s living room, and He shows up in a deep way.
“The statutes of the Lord are trustworthy, making wise the simple.” (Psalm 119:7)
I am this simple guy, I need the Lord’s trustworthy guidance.
When I read the bible WITH the Lord, in a conversational way, I also hear Him speak.
Reflecting on a passage, I sense His Spirit speaking to my soul.
Sometimes I get lost in the details of life or scripture, and I forget to listen.
Or I get so busy, I don’t have time to be outside, or to read scripture with Him.
But I am missing out when I don’t allow His majesty in nature to speak to me.
Or when I don’t allow His Spirit in scripture to teach, rebuke, correct and train me.
“Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they reveal knowledge.” (v.2)
Are you enjoying the benefit and the blessing of the Lord’s Voice in your life?
PRAYER
Lord, thank You for the times when creation and scripture have blessed me. Forgive me for not taking advantage of these gifts. I want to hear Your voice!
Connecting with God – through the vastness and beauty of creation and through His word – both are so meaningful to me! His word helps me learn and focus on where I need to grow! His creation reminds me of His sovereignty! Thank you Jesus that I may know you and so know my God – Father Son and Holy Spirit. Thank you HS for guiding and working in me – forgive me I pray when my will gets in the way! -Re-direct my thoughts to you – to look out in creation – to dig into your word!
