Where He leads, we will follow!

Posted on January 11, 2020January 10, 2020 by Norm

PLEASE READ THIS FIRST: Exodus 37-40

What do you sense the Lord saying to you in this passage?

“The cloud covered the tent of meeting, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle. (Exodus 40:34)
God fills this tabernacle to confirm that everything was “just as the Lord commanded.”
In other words, God is pleased with the tent Moses directed to be built.
God is with Moses and the people, and they are to listen to and follow Him.
Jews today cannot follow the Moses or the temple, but they still follow the book of Moses.
As Jesus followers, we do not follow a tent, nor do we follow a book.
We follow Jesus, who is the living embodiment of God’s presence and will.
Jesus was also filled with God’s glory, and Moses and Elijah show up too (Matthew 17:1-8).
Peter wants to build three ‘tabernacles’ (Matthew 17:4, actual word) to honour all three.
But as new covenant believers, we are to follow the lead of Jesus, not Moses or Elijah.
“This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased. Listen to him!” (Matthew 17:5).
Jesus is the presence, or temple, of ‘God with us’, He is filled with the Spirit of glory.
Because we are with Jesus, His Spirit fills us too, and guides us in all our travels.
Reading about this temple is interesting; reading about Jesus is life-transforming.
Make sure Jesus is at the center of your life; He will guide you to your promised rest!
PRAYER
Lord, lead me like the temple led the people of Israel. Help me to know where to go, what to say, and how to live. Help me to listen to You!

A place where the most Holy God could be present near His people – a beautiful tabernacle where His presence was evident day and night all during their vulnerable time in the desert. His care evident in the daily manna – with the double dose for the Sabbath the day before. And now that the final atonement for sin has been made – through Jesus we may be living temples – our hearts an Ark for the Holy Spirit! Like the cloud and pillar of fire -His HS leads and guides us – we need to follow!

Lord Jesus I am yours and where you lead me I will follow. My only comfort in life and in death is that I belong to you for you purchased me with your precious blood and delivered me from the powers of darkness. You sent the Holy Spirit to be your Presence in me and with me. Help me Lord to listen to your leading/instruction and open my eyes to see where you want me to walk.

    Holy to the Lord.
    As the Lord commanded Moses.
Listening to the Word of the Lord and doing what He says. Are my ears open to hear His Word?
And as the Lord lead His people were lead by the cloud So I too need to be lead by His Spirit in the way I need to go. I am a Jesus follower and I need to be open where He leads me and guides me.

    Verse 1
I am weak and I need Thy strength and power,
To help me over my weakest hour.
Let me through the darkness Thy face to see,
Lead me, oh Lord lead me.

    Chorus
Lead me, guide me along the way,
For if you lead me I cannot stray.
Lord, let me walk each day with Thee.
Lead me, oh Lord lead me.

    Verse 2
Help me tread in the paths of righteousness.
Be my aid when Satan and sin oppress.
I am putting all my trust in Thee:
Lead me, oh Lord lead me.

    Verse 3
I am lost if you take your hand from me,
I am blind without Thy light to see.
Lord just always let me thy servant be,
Lead me, oh Lord lead me.

think about it!

I would rather feel compassion than know the meaning of it.
