Love covers over all wrongs!

Posted on July 27, 2019July 26, 2019 by Norm

THE STORY OF JESUS: Proverbs 10
“Hatred stirs up conflict, but love covers over all wrongs.” (Proverbs 10:12)
What strikes me about these proverbs is how basic and sensible they are.
I might question some of them, but most of them make sense to me.
I could have chosen to reflect on all of these proverbs, I am only choosing one.
Spend time with a hate-filled person, and you will soon experience conflict.
Spend time with a love-filled person, and wrongs will be overcome.
I picked this one because it reminds me of how God overcomes evil in us.
Some portray God as raging angry because of His hatred of sin.
But God so loved sinful humans that He sent Jesus to rescue and restore them.
His love covered over (the meaning of ‘atone’) our sins and failings.
Jesus not only overcomes evil by following God’s way of love.
He calls us to join Him, to cover over wrongs with love.
It may not seem sensible, but we do sense the truth of it.
Anger and revenge will not heal the wrongs of others, it will only make things worse.
As a Jesus follower, I am called to live out the wisdom of this proverb in my life.
What do you sense the Lord saying to you?
PRAYER
Lord, in the moment it feels good to give vent to my rage, but it never heals anything. Help me to love, like You, and use me to help heal the sins and wrongs that burden others.

Thank you for this,I needed a reminder to keep living even when the situation is hopeless and unlovable.

think about it!

It is not enough to be good if you have the ability to be better.
