Multiplication or division?

SCRIPTURE: Acts 14:1-7
“The people of the city did not agree with one another.” (Acts 12:4)
There is certainly something divisive about Jesus.
How can you hate a message of love, of mercy, of generosity, of compassion?
But what if many people start living the Jesus life?
It will impact the families and communities of those people.
It will also challenge the existing beliefs and practices.
Those in charge won’t like how the Jesus life will upset their positions.
“Do you think I came to bring peace on earth? No, I tell you. I have come to separate people.” (Luke 12:51)
We should not be surprised that the Jesus life causes controversy around us.
Unless we live it only on Sundays, keep our faith ‘private’, or make it respectable.
Following Jesus will impact our own lives, our families, our social and work lives.
But if we trust the Lord, He will back us up with signs of His grace.
We may even see the multiplication of people becoming Jesus followers with us!
What do you sense the Lord saying to you?
PRAYER
Lord, I do not like division or fighting. Help me not to focus on keeping people happy, but on loving and serving and blessing all people, like You did. If division does happen, keep me strong for You!
