SCRIPTURE: Acts 13:24-31
“The people of Jerusalem and their rulers did not recognize Jesus…” (Acts 13:27)
God is all around us, we many people do not see Him.
He is at work in our lives all the time, yet people don’t realize its Him.
“Though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him.” (John 1:10)
Jesus comes to offer hope, rescue, restored life, eternal blessing, but do people see it?
How frustrating for a parent to do so much for their child, but their child recognize it.
Yesterday we saw how the Lord is actively showing His enduring love in our lives.
Sadly so many take it for granted, or give the credit elsewhere.
Thankfully God does not give up.
For centuries He has been repeating His message of love through Jesus.
Even when the church has failed (like the religious leaders in Jesus day), He will not.
Not even death can keep Him from fulfilling His promise of restoring creation and His family.
“Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.” (John 1:12)
What do you sense the Lord saying to you?
PRAYER
Lord, Your love endures forever, even when we do not recognize or receive it. May today something happen that will open the eyes of many. Open my eyes more too, I pray!
Observation/Application
Who am I looking for?
Where am I looking for Him?
Do I see Him?
Do I have the ears that hear and the eyes that see?
A hardened heart?
Open my eyes Lord that I may see Him daily in His given Word – general and special. Help me to be a witness to those around me so that they can see Christ Jesus alive in me.
And the persecution continues in all places – physically, spiritually and God continues to raise witnesses so that His Kingdom may come in full.
Help me Lord to be an instrument of Your peace.
Help me daily to see You.
Help me to be a living ‘letter’ this day.
