Now THAT’S a miracle!

Posted on April 15, 2015April 15, 2015 by Norm

SCRIPTURE: Acts 4:32-37
“No one claimed that any of their possessions was their own, but they shared everything they had.” (Acts 4:32)
This is one of the greatest miracles of Jesus.
What is raising the dead compared to making people give up their possessions and share with others?
Making or raising a body is nothing to God, He made the whole Universe.
But how do you change the heart of free will yet sinful human beings?
It is this character transformation, that I have seen in others who met Jesus, that convinces me.
Sadly, many Christians demonstrate very little character transformation, making one wonder.
The wonder of the resurrection, and the power of the Spirit, together working to change hearts and lives.
Have they had that impact in your life… am I released from greed or possessiveness?
Is the Spirit turning me into a more humble, loving, generous ‘son of encouragement’?
This is how I know revival has not hit me, or my church.
May God’s grace work powerfully among us, so that we can be this kind of miracle community.
What do you sense the Lord saying to you?
PRAYER
Lord, Your Spirit can change us like this, but we need to open our hearts and minds to be one in heart and mind. Help me to be receptive this this kind of miracle!

    Observations/Application
    ‘All the believers were one in heart and mind.’
    Wow!
    A miracle.
    Godpower at work!
    Certainly not true today. The word of the times in Judges comes to my mind – ‘Everyone did what right in their own eyes.’ Ugh.
    The earth is the Lord’s and all therein. We are not our own but need to give all to Him. If we had that giving Spirit today, just think of the impact of the church at work – God at work. No shortages of monies for kingdom causes. No shortage for budgets, missions, education etc. God’s people being One.
    The Lord has blessed me and I must be a blessing to those around me.

    1 Out in the highways and byways of life,
    many are weary and sad;
    are weary and sad
    Carry the sunshine where darkness is rife
    making the sorrowing glad.

    Refrain:
    Make me a blessing,
    Make me a blessing,
    Out of my life
    out of my life
    May Jesus shine;
    Make me a blessing, O savior, I pray,
    I pray Thee, my Savior,
    Make me a blessing to someone today.

    2 Tell the sweet story of Christ and His love;
    Tell of His pow’r to forgive;
    His pow’r to forgive.
    Others will trust Him if only you prove
    true ev’ry moment you live.

    Refrain:

    3 Give as ’twas given to you in your need;
    Love as the Master loved you;
    Be to the helpless a helper indeed;
    Unto your mission be true.
    Refrain

think about it!

To put the world right in order, we must first put the nation in order; to put the nation in order, we must first put the family in order; to put the family in order, we must first cultivate our personal life; we must first set our hearts right.
