SCRIPTURE: Psalm 133
“For there the Lord bestows his blessing, even life forevermore.” Psalm 133:3)
What a joy it is when the family is together, and getting along!
I have heard of families where there is tension, even hatred and meanness.
Or families where one member hasn’t been heard from or spoken to in years.
God’s dream for humanity and creation is harmony, peace and love.
When sin ruined this, God set about restoring His family, and His kingdom peace.
His Spirit (symbolized here by oil) has been raising up leaders of restoration.
Peacemakers, servant-minded people, those who forgive, show mercy and compassion.
When there is love in God’s family, it spreads (like dew in the wind) to moisten dry places.
“By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” (John 13:35)
As a Jesus follower, I am to join with Jesus in breaking down walls of division, hatred and injustice.
As a Jesus follower, God smiles and spreads His blessing, when we live in love and peace.
What do you sense the Lord saying to you?
PRAYER
Lord, make me a channel of your peace, where there is hatred, let me bring Your love, where there is injury, Your pardon Lord, and where there’s doubt, true faith in You. Make me a channel of your peace, where there’s despair in life let me bring hope, where there is darkness – only light, and where there’s sadness, ever joy.
