Jesus sees me too

Posted on March 5, 2015March 5, 2015 by Norm

SCRIPTURE: John 19:16-27
“Near the cross of Jesus…” (John 19:25)
What would have been doing if you had been near the cross?
Fighting over His claims to be king?
Gambling for His clothes?
Watching with curiosity, or disinterest, or anger, or sadness?
Jesus sees all those around Him, and He loves them.
Jesus sees His mother, and He loves her.
Jesus sees His tormenters, and He forgives them.
Jesus sees me, as I stand near the cross, and He loves me too.
I may be a sinner, a weak believer, a lukewarm follower, or worldly like the rich young ruler.
“Jesus looked at him and loved him.” (John 10:21)
He looks at us, and says to His Father, ‘Father, here is Your son, here is Your daughter!’
What do you sense the Lord saying to you?
PRAYER
Lord, I don’t know how You could remain so loving while on the cross, but I am so glad you did. Thank You for seeing me from the cross, and loving me too!

    Observations/Application
    The Pilate who was swayed kept his word. The notice stayed and scripture was fulfilled.
    The garment of Christ was given to the one who won by the cast of the dice so that the Scriptures would be fulfilled.
    The mother of Jesus was at the cross and He looked after her by giving her comfort after removing one comfort. Christ comforts His people during tough times. Honour your parents in life and in death.
    Christ served always.
    He was for all.
    He lived to give His all.
    And I?
    I must do the same
    giving all to serve
    my Risen Saviour.

    All for Jesus, all for Jesus!
    All my being’s ransomed powers:
    All my thoughts and words and doings,
    All my days and all my hours.
    Refrain

    All for Jesus! All for Jesus!
    All my days and all my hours;
    All for Jesus! All for Jesus!
    All my days and all my hours.

    Let my hands perform His bidding,
    Let my feet run in His ways;
    Let my eyes see Jesus only,
    Let my lips speak forth His praise.

    Refrain

    Worldlings prize their gems of beauty,
    Cling to gilded toys of dust,
    Boast of wealth and fame and pleasure;
    Only Jesus will I trust.

    Refrain

    Since my eyes were fixed on Jesus,
    I’ve lost sight of all beside;
    So enchained my spirit’s vision,
    Looking at the Crucified.

    Refrain

    Oh, what wonder! how amazing!
    Jesus, glorious King of kings,
    Deigns to call me His belovèd,
    Lets me rest beneath His wings.

think about it!

The difference between involvement and commitment is like an eggs-and-ham breakfast: the chicken was involved – the pig was committed.
