SCRIPTURE: Luke 9:46-50
In God’s family, everyone is equal, because everyone is like Jesus, like God.
Welcome a child, you are welcoming royalty!
And everyone belongs in God’s family (no matter what race or religion).
Only those who are against God and His family put themselves outside of it.
We spend way to much time building our groups, and seeing them as better.
There is only one group – God’s family – and all of us are great in it.
How should we see other people – not as less than us, not as outside of us.
Our hearts go out to all people, and especially those who are resisting or rejecting God.
Jesus came for this reason (Luke 19:10), and sends us out for the same reason.
Our job is to try to draw them back, to remind them of their greatness (with us) and belonging.
Stop separating people in terms of ‘greatness’ (who is better) or of ‘groups’ (who belongs).
Like Jesus, do whatever you can to help others enter into ‘God’s greatness group’.
What do you sense the Lord saying to you?
PRAYER
God, remind me that EVERYONE belongs to Your family, and is GREAT like You, like me. Open my heart to others, especially those who refuse to enjoy our family connection.
