Warning lights!!!!

Posted on March 14, 2014March 8, 2014 by Norm

SCRIPTURE: Proverbs 5-9
“Can a man scoop fire into his lap without his clothes being burned? Can a man walk on hot coals without his feet being scorched?” (Proverbs 6:27-28)
This is so obvious, why does it need to be said?
Because for some reason so many people are blind to the obvious, and do stupid things like this.
Satan has many different lures in his tackle box, but sex is one the best.
“But a man who commits adultery has no sense; whoever does so destroys himself.” (Proverbs 6:32)
Ask someone whose life has been ruined by sexual scandal, and they will agree.
Why don’t they see it before they’re caught, or in the moment of weakness?
Let this be a lesson to all of us; sin in it’s many forms is deceptive, making us blind to its dangers.
My sense is that during the moment of weakness, it’s not that we think we can get away with it; rather we don’t think at all, we just feel, and act on impulse.
All of these proverbs are warning lights on the dashboard of life, flashing their warning when there is danger.
A little black tape can hide the flashing light, but it can’t prevent the impending engine blowout.
Don’t be stupid, the devil is an expert fisherman, he knows what bait to use on you, on me!
What do you sense the Lord saying to you?
PRAYER
God, the wages of sin are so obvious, after the fact. I can’t say that nobody warned me. The warning lights are flashing. I have the choice, wisdom or folly. Which will I choose?

    Observations/Application
    As a father speaks to his son saying ‘Do this’, so too the Lord says to His people words of Life through His Word saying ‘Do this and LIVE.’ This is the Way. Walk in it.

    The Lord has given rules of Life through His Word. He has told us the things that He hates. Bind His Way upon my heart and He will keep me pure. Focus on Christ and not on what the world offers. Don’t be lead astray by the world’s pleasures – Satan’s temptations – but stay with my heart turned to home. Focus on the Lord. Walk with the risen Saviour. Let Jesus lead and guide in all of life. Look for Him always and in all things.

    God has given His Word that those who seek Him will find Him. I must seek Him in all things and ask for His leading in all things for my world belongs to God. Listen I must.

    Prayer
    Open my ears Lord that I hear You in all things for You are my Guide who leads me in the paths I need to walk – paths of righteousness. Continue to feed me always.

    Guide me, O Thou great Jehovah,
    [or Guide me, O Thou great Redeemer…]
    Pilgrim through this barren land.
    I am weak, but Thou art mighty;
    Hold me with Thy powerful hand.
    Bread of Heaven, Bread of Heaven,
    Feed me till I want no more;
    Feed me till I want no more.

think about it!

Reading the Bible without meditating on it is like trying to eat without swallowing.
