Reflecting on John 14:12-14
“I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.” (John 14:13)
Reflecting God’s love (Exodus 34:6-7) is how we glorify God.
God-like love produces the greatest of all works.
As we freely have received God’s love, we freely share it.
When we seek to love like this, Jesus is working with us.
He will back us, and help us do what we are asking to do.
Jesus is not offering us a technique to get whatever we want.
Asking in His Name is asking in God’s glorious Name of love (Exodus 34:6-7).
If our request reflects grace, compassion, mercy, etc., Jesus will help us.
He may not give us the specific thing we ask for.
But He will do something gracious, compassionate, merciful through us.
God and Jesus shining in and through us is what Jesus is offering.
Just as we see the Father through Jesus, others experience them through us.
When this happens, life glows with the glorious goodness of God.
As followers of Jesus, we want to both KNOW and SHOW this radical love.
Jesus assures us that if we seek this, He will help us do this!
PRAYER
Lord Jesus, I want to overflow with the love of God, to live and move and work and act in this love. This is what I am asking You to do with and through me! May the glory of Your love shine!

Love is of God and if we are in Him we/I need to show that love by my actions. Others can see that we are Christians by our love, a love worth giving as God showed His love to us by giving His Son. It is only in receiving His love that I am able to love others.
