Reflecting on Luke 24:28-32
“Were not our hearts burning within us while he talked with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?” (Luke 24:32)
Jesus was with these disciples, though they didn’t realize it.
Totally unaware to them, they were being discipled by Jesus.
And when they broke bread with Jesus, they still did not realize it.
But through that whole time, something was happening within them.
Deep inside their spirit, the Spirit of Jesus was stirring things up.
That burning they sensed in their hearts was the Spirit of Jesus.
Maybe it was a burning of conviction, or the warmth of His love.
But despite their not realizing it, the Spirit was working in them.
This happens to us as well: Jesus working invisibly in and with us.
Have you ever felt something stirring within you, something deep and personal?
A feeling of peace, an awareness of God’s presence, or a sense of conviction?
Or maybe a prompting to do or saying something, or NOT to do or say something?
I believe Jesus is with me, and His Spirit working in me, despite not seeing it.
My practice is to look for these signs, this burning sense within me.
When I start paying attention, it is amazing how many things I start to see.
PRAYER
Lord Jesus, You are with me. You are working in me. Open the eyes of my heart that I may see, sense and delight in Your comforting, convicting and compelling presence.

Where did I see Jesus today is a thought crossing my mind at times. And then I see the special moments where I did some things out of my comfort zone like praying for and with a friend. He is always with me but my eyes and eas need to be open to see Him and hear Him saying do this and live. Be like Jesus from day to day. That’s how I need to let my light shine.
