Reflecting on Luke 12:22-34
“Sell your possessions and give to the poor.” (Luke 12:33)
We do not need to fear as God’s children, for God is generous and good.
Therefore we are free to release what we horde, to share with others.
God is generous, and made us generous, so be generous!
This is WHO we are, WHY we are here, and HOW we are to live!
When we set out heart on this, we become rich beyond belief!
Our wealth is not based on the temporal things we possess.
Our wealth is based on love, how we are loved and how we love.
These are usually cyclical; the more we love, the more love we experience.
Though in this twisted world, not everyone responds to love with love.
We see that in Jesus, in how His perfect love was received by some, not all.
Nevertheless, this is God’s world, and we are invited to live God’s Way.
Also like Jesus, we will be vindicated in the end, and love will overcome.
Love is a treasure that will never fail, that cannot be destroyed.
Do not worry about things, or pursue things: seek what matters, and brings joy!
God’s kingdom of love is ours, and everyone else’s… let’s generously share it!
PRAYER
Lord Jesus, You are describing a better way to live, how we were designed to live life to the full. Help us to see that letting go of lesser things does not make us poor, but opens us up to the greater joys and riches God has in mind for us! Make me rich in this way!

February is heart month. What is your heart’s desire? From the heart flow all the issues of life. Where our heart is will determine our priorities in our lives. I remember the song, ‘Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things will be added unto you.’ Our hearts show whose we are for where our hearts are flow all the issues of our lives.
