PLEASE READ THIS FIRST: Matthew 12:1-21

What do you sense the Lord saying to you in this passage?

“The final condition of that person is worse than the first.” (Matthew 12:45)
I once prayed intensely with someone who an impure spirit.
I had no training, skill or ‘superpower’, I just prayed Jesus’s Name.
I’d love to say that person’s condition today is better, but it is not.
They are now hyper-religious, and extremely judgmental.
Its as if the first spirit found some bodies, and a new angle of approach.
I wonder if this is what Jesus is speaking about here.
Removing a bad spirit is not enough, Jesus needs to move in.
We need to be possessed by Jesus and Jesus’s Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23).
Being emptied is not enough, we need to be filled – with Jesus.
The enemy has many ways to mislead us, to the left and to the right.
The pharisees were one extreme, and the Romans were another.
Both resisted Jesus and the Jesus way, and were possessed by self and power.
You can sense a Jesus-possessed heart by the condition of love.
Do you want to be possessed by Jesus’s Spirit – love, joy, peace, etc?
PRAYER
Lord Jesus, I want my condition to be better, not worse. Fill me with your Spirit, and may it overflow so that there is no room for other spirits and their buddies.
