July 31 — Galatians 6:1-18

Posted on July 31, 2007November 8, 2023 by Norm

SCRIPTURE: Galatians 6:1-18

OBSERVATION:
Paul finishes his letter with a summary appeal to live the heart of the gospel: grace! Be gracious to those who stumble and struggle, and look for opportunities to do good to others, especially other believers and those who lead in the faith. Take sin seriously (you reap what you sow), but resist the bondage of legalism. Live as new creatures of God, under the ultimate sign of grace, the cross.

APPLICATION:
Following Jesus is both simple and challenging. Live in the freedom of grace (I am loved, forgiven, free), but use that freedom to bless/benefit others, not to indulge the sinful nature. It is not a matter of keeping religious rituals but of receiving and demonstrating grace, to everyone! I feel the conviction of the Spirit that I am not living out God’s grace, but indulging my own sinful nature. What drives me?

PRAYER:
Lord, I sense that I am living more for the flesh than for You, and that the result is fear, weakness and confusion. Help me break through this logjam. Amen.

think about it!

He became what we are that He might make us what He is.
