Reflecting on John 20:30-31
“These are written that you may believeĀ that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.” (John 20:31)
John has a clear agenda in what he writes… all the Gospel writers do.
He selects some signs from many to make his point and achieve his goal.
He wants us to trust in Jesus, and to have life in His Name.
John’s agenda is not to make money from his audience, or to build his own empire.
He sees people all around struggling through life, and wants them to have LIFE.
Jesus did not perform signs to make money or to build His own empire.
Jesus had the same goal: to help those struggling with life to find LIFE.
LIFE is not found by eating, drinking, being rich, famous or powerful.
LIFE is found with God the Source of LIFE, and Jesus is the way to that LIFE.
The Jesus Way seems foolish and week: give yourself in love for others.
Loving people, no matter who or how they are, even suffering for them.
A world anchored in such love would not be a misery, but a joy.
Imagine everyone loving like Jesus did; everyone would enjoy LIFE.
John finished his account, but we are still writing the Jesus story.
Our lives can continue to be signs of love, to help others believe!
PRAYER
Lord Jesus, may my story continue Your story, the story of LIFE and LOVE. May people see the signs in my life that testify to Who You are. May people have LIFE in Your Name, LIFE to the full!

Life, true life is only possible in Jesus. He is the Way, the Truth and the Life. All other ways lead to death May others see Christ Jesus living in me by my word and deeds as I continue practicing the Way, His Way.
